Hello residents of Ealing Broadway. Please see the responses for our recent local survey asking about problems in Ealing Broadway town centre. The top results that came back are below. • Groups of youths causing ASB - (smoking and causing intimidation) at Haven Green, McDonalds
• Begging – outside Sainsburys, Lloyds Banks, O/S M&S, Wenzels
• Drug taking – Haven Place alleyway
• Begging –
• Illegal e-bikes & cycling on pavement – food delivery parking
• Shoplifting
• Speeding on Windsor road
Areas that need the most attention:
• McDonalds, Haven Place alleyway, Haven Green, Windsor road
Requests:
• A greater police presence
• Patrols in the hot spot area
• Speeding operations
To respond these issues we have planned the following operations in the months of August and September:
- Operation Palkia – An e-bike related operation to deter offences such as phone snatches, cycling on the pavement and driving without insurance. The first of these took place on 12th August when 6 e-bikes were seized, 7 tickets were given for driving without insurance, and 2 people were detained.
- Targeted undercover shoplifting patrols with our partners in the shopping centre.
- Train station proactive operation around drugs and the carrying of weapons
- Daily patrols during our peak hours for crime
